ONE FOR THE AGES: 1971 #331 BROOKS ROBINSON WORLD SERIES CARD

How awesome is this card?!
The 1970 World Series Highlight card (#331) in the 1971 set has always been one of my favorites.
Fantastic black border with colorful text, amazing photograph of perhaps one of the best defensive displays in baseball history, and one of the best lines on a card:
"B. Robinson Commits Robbery!"
Just seeing Brooks Robinson in that shot just after spearing the ball, all alone on the field surrounded by the seemingly endless expanse of the infield dirt is nothing short of classic!
This photo HAD to be cropped just right to have nothing but dirt, edge to edge, with him sprawled out and perfectly centered on the card.
Amazing card and one for the collecting ages!
A classic!

  1. When I was young, I coveted my brother's copy of the card. When older, it was one of the first '71 cards I bought.
