MAJOR LEAGUE CHAMPS DEPICTED ON TEAM CARDS IN THE 1970'S

I was always a fan of team cards, and the 1970's gave us the good (1975/76/77/78), the bad (1973/74), and the downright ugly (1970).
For this post I wanted to upload all the world champ team cards from 1970-1979. So therefore, really what this is about are the champs between 1969-1978 (the previous years winner).
My personal favorites are the 1975 and 1976 Reds cards, and the 1978 Yankees team card. Topps just had a nice style for these years team cards.
Here we go:

The "Miracle Mets" (though NOT designated on front) on a dull grey design. Ugh.

Nice card, but again with no team name presented. Sorry Orioles!

Funky 1972 design with a not so funky picture.

Can anyone say BORING!!??

Not that much of an improvement from the year before.
Love that 1975 color scheme for the Three-peaters!

The "Big Red Machine" in all their glory!

Repeat champs, and one of my favorite team cards.

"The Bronx Zoo" crew. Love this card.

The decade's THIRD repeat champs.

  1. The Orioles are my team, and I can't tell you how annoying it is that they used an old photo for their World Champions shot.

  2. Plus, Brooks Robinson is not even in the shot! He was only World Series MVP, for crying-out-loud!
