Time
to go and give former outfielder Rowland Office a “not so missing” 1973
card to celebrate his first taste of the Big Leagues, which came in
1972:
Office appeared in two games for the Atlanta Braves during the 1972
season as a nineteen-year-old, collecting two hits over five at-bats for
a nifty .400 batting average with a run scored.
After a full year in the Minors for 1973, he’d be back in the Majors for
good in 1974, appearing in 131 games and going on to play through the
1983 season with two games for the New York Yankees.
In between, he played the bulk of his career with the Braves, good for
seven seasons, before putting in three years with the Montreal Expos,
leading up to that aforementioned brief Yankees stint.
Overall, Office played for eleven years, finishing up with a .259
batting average on 626 hits in 2413 at-bats over 899 games, scoring 259
runs while driving in 242.
