On
the blog today, a fun card to create, a “not so missing” 1973 card for
nine-game Major League pitcher Steve Simpson, who played the entirety of
his Big League career during the last month of the 1972 season:
The 23-year-old made his MLB debut on September 10th, 1972, throwing two
scoreless innings against the Atlanta Braves, and went on to finish
with a record of 0-2 with a 4.76 earned run average over 11.1 innings of
 work.
Sadly for him that would be it for the Big Leagues, as he’d put in
another two seasons in the Minor Leagues before calling it a career.
