Let’s
go and close-out former outfielder Tommie Reynolds’ eight-year Major
League career with a 1973 card, reflecting his lone season with the
Milwaukee Brewers, his last as a big leaguer:
Reynolds appeared in 72 games for the Brewers, batting an even .200 with
26 hits over 130 official at-bats while putting in time in the outfield
corners, first base and over at third.
It would end up being the capper to his career that began back in 1963
with the Kansas City Athletics, though he missed both the 1966 and 1968
seasons, toiling in the Minors.
By the time he was done, he collected 265 career hits over 1170 at-bats,
giving us his career .226 batting average, with a dozen homers and 87
RBIs in 513 MLB games.
Funny enough I also created a 1972 “missing” card for him way back when
on the blog, showing how Topps really did seem to forget about him by
the early part of the decade.
