Up on the blog today, we have a "not so missing" 1970 card for former pitcher Phil Hennigan, who made his MLB debut in 1969 as a member of the Cleveland Indians:
Hennigan
was a 23-year-old when he appeared in nine games for the Tribe in 1969,
going 2-1 with a 3.31 earned run average over 16.1 innings of work.
He
would go on to play four seasons with the Indians, generally out of the
bullpen, before one last hurrah in 1973 as a member of the National
League champion New York Mets.
All told, in his five years
under the Big League sun, Hennigan finished with a record of 17-14 over
176 games, posting an ERA of 4.26 in 280.2 innings, with 26 saves and
188 strikeouts.
Not a bad little career at that.
