Up on the blog today we have a career-capping "not so missing" 1977 card for former pitcher Harry Parker, who played what turned out to be the last of his Big League games in 1976 as a member of the Cleveland Indians:
Parker appeared in only three games
for Cleveland that season, his only campaign with the team after coming
over from the St. Louis Cardinals in a trade just before the year began.
Over
three relief appearances he pitched seven innings and didn't allow a
run on only three hits, certainly a respectable showing if you ask me.
But
it turned out that would be it for Parker as a Big League pitcher,
retiring altogether from pro ball after a six-year career that saw him
go 15-21 with a 3.85 ERA in 124 appearances, 30 of those starts, with 12
saves.
Over that time he had two stints with the Cardinals, along with two-plus seasons with the New York Mets and those last three games with the Indians.
