You’d
think a guy with as cool a name as Puchy Delgado would have gotten a
card, or even a slot on a multi-player rookie card, in 1978 after a
brief stint in the Big Leagues, but no dice, so I made one and present
it today:
Delgado was a September call-up for the Seattle Mariners in their
inaugural season of 1977, batting .182 with four hits in 22 at-bats, all
singles.
Turns out it would be the only Major League experience he’d get, playing
out the rest of his Pro career in the Minors through the 1979 season,
the last of which was in the Kansas City Royals organization.
Between 1973 and 1976 he was actually a member of the Boston Red Sox
organization, getting drafted by Seattle in the expansion draft.
