Here’s
a “not so missing” 1974 card for former pitcher Norm Angelini, who
pitched the final seven games of his brief two-year Major League career
in 1973:
Angelini made seven relief appearances during his second season in the
big leagues, posting a 4.91 earned run average over 3.2 innings of work,
walking seven and striking out three.
He had his first taste of the “big show” in 1972, when he appeared in 21
games for the Kansas City Royals, posting a record of 201 with a very
nice 2.25 era over 16 innings pitched.
He’d end up toiling in the Minor Leagues for another seven years,
through the 1981 season, for the Royals, Atlanta Braves and Montreal
Expos organizations, but never get back to MLB ball before he retired
from pro-ball.
