Here’s
a “missing” 1977 card for former pitcher Steve Barr, who already threw
the last of his Major League innings in 1976 with the Texas Rangers:
Barr, who originally came up with the Red Sox in 1974, appeared in 20
games with the Rangers, 10 of them starts, putting together a 2-6 record
with a 5.59 earned run average over 67.2 innings of work.
The previous two seasons he played in a combined four games for Boston, going an even 1-1 in 15 innings.
All together he’d finish with a 3-7 MLB record over 24 games, throwing
four complete games among his 13 starts, with a 5.16 ERA and 32
strikeouts in 83.2 innings.
